Top Renovator, Cherie Barber is challenged with updating a drab, dated 1970’s bathroom that’s seen better days. Home owner Abhishek Sharma has just purchased this investment property and has a budget of only $2,500, all said and done, to transform his bathroom space. Whilst the bathroom is currently functional, the bathroom lacks any ounce of personality and the current bathtub is not suitable for a family who will live in the property, once rented.
Abhi has called in top gun Cherie for a quick cosmetic refresh. With a lot of DIY work, Cherie & Abhi team up to prove that it is possible to transform your bathroom on a small budget.
RENOVATION STRATEGY:
Improve the appearance of an existing 1970’s bathroom through a low budget ($2,500) cosmetic refurbishment (no structural changes) including:
- Removal of dated fixtures & fittings.
- Remove small bath tub & install new standard size bath.
- Tile paint existing wall tiles.
- Install new tiles on one side of the bathroom as a feature.
- DIY re-painting of walls & ceiling.
- Installation of new floor tiles.
- Updating existing bathroom lighting;
- Installation of new toilet, vanity, mirror, fixtures & fittings.
