Home Storage Problems? How I Used Inabox to Maximise Every Inch of Space.
Let’s be real – when you’re renovating a tiny home, especially one that’s only 18 square metres in size, every single centimetre has to earn its keep. There’s no room for dead space, no “just chuck it in the spare room” option, and definitely no walk-in wardrobe dreams coming true.
So, when I took on the challenge of renovating & flipping a teeny-tiny 18-square-metre Sydney apartment recently, I knew I had to get creative. The goal? Convince potential buyers that, yes, they could actually fit their stuff into this pint-sized pad without needing to sacrifice half their belongings or live like a minimalist monk.
Enter Inabox Solutions – my not-so-secret weapon in the battle against wasted space.
Kitchen Chaos: The Fight Against Wasted Space
We’ve all seen it: kitchen cupboards so deep you need a headlamp to find the peanut butter, shelves with more empty air than actual storage, and pantries that turn into a terrifying game of Jenga every time you grab a can of baked beans.
In a tiny apartment, you can’t afford any kind of that nonsense.
A typical kitchen pantry with lots of vertical space wasted.
The solution? Inabox Stackable Organisers. These little beauties will let the new homeowner utilise every single inch of space without the risk of a canned goods landslide. Plus, they come in a bunch of colours (clear if you like to see everything at a glance, or stylish white and grey if you prefer a cleaner look). They stack like a dream, meaning no more wasted vertical space.
The small kitchen pantry with lots of vertical height between shelves.
After – the pantry utilising all the vertical space between each shelf.
You can see from the images above, that Inabox does a mighty fine job, turning this “Where the heck do I put this?” pantry into an organised, chaos-free zone.
Living Large in a Tiny Living Room
When your living room is roughly the size of a shoebox, every piece of furniture needs to work harder than a tradie on a Friday arvo.
For this reno, I installed some off-the-shelf, flat pack Kaboodle kitchen cabinets from Bunnings to create a sneaky under-stair storage system.
Kaboodle flat pack cabinetry was pushed under the stairs to utilise unused, dead space.
This space was completely wasted before – just sitting there, doing nothing, like a teenager avoiding chores. But with some clever planning (and a bit of elbow grease), it became a brilliant hidden storage zone that kept the living room looking sleek & uncluttered.
The cabinetry looks slimline but has a secret depth to it, by utilising the under-stair space.
Of course, I wasn’t going to stop there. Oh no!
Enter Inabox Modular Containers – the royalty of home organisation. These sexy little containers let me maximise every bit of vertical space for things like board games, DVDs, and that random collection of cables everyone owns but never actually uses.
Inabox’s Modular Containers maximise every inch of space.
The result? A living room that won’t just look good but will actually function properly – no more tripping over random clutter or wondering where to stash the 57 cushions that people seem to own. They’ll also keep your treasured possessions clean & protected, what’s not to love about that!
The Bathroom Storage Struggle
Ah, the bathroom – it’s the tiniest room in anyone’s home, and the one with the biggest storage problems.
We’ve all been there: you open your mirrored shaving cabinet, and suddenly, your entire skincare collection leaps out at you like an avalanche. Not ideal when you’re half-asleep and just looking for toothpaste.
The insides of a typical Aussie bathroom vanity.
To avoid that kind of morning drama, I used Inabox’s 0.8 Litre Stackable Organisers. These little beauties instantly triple the usable space in the bathroom vanity & mirrored shaving cabinet, keeping everything neat, organised, and (most importantly) upright.
Now, skincare bottles, toothbrushes & razors all have a proper home – no more rogue tubes of toothpaste rolling into your sink.
The True Hero: QR-Coded Storage Tubs (Because Nobody Has Time for Endless Rummaging)
Okay, this blew my mind – and saved my tradies’ sanity during my reno.
Being an apartment renovation, we literally only had a 1 metre x 1 metre space to store everyone’s tools & equipment at the end of each day. Being the problem solver I am, I purchased 10 x Inabox Heavy Duty Containers and slapped on their genius QR code stickers. The idea? Each tradie got their own tub for their tools, and at the end of the day, they just chucked everything in, we stacked them all up on top of each other, and boom – instant organised chaos.
The best part? Just scan the QR code on any tub with your phone, and the Organise by Inabox app instantly shows you what’s inside – no more having to open every single tub to find that one thing you’re looking for. Need to find something specific? Simply use the QR codes and Organise by Inabox app’s search function & the app instantly tells which tub your item is in. Whether you’re organising seasonal decorations, tools, keepsakes or just general bric-a-brac, this system makes storage effortless! No more mystery tubs filled with who-knows-what lurking in your garage. Just scan the QR code sticker with your mobile, check the contents on your phone, and retrieve your item – the Organise by Inabox app is like magic!
Here’s another great use too that you’ll absolutely love … moving home? Label all your removalist boxes with the QR Code Stickers before your removalist arrives. When you get to your new location, all you have to do is type whatever item you need to unpack first in the search function of the app. The app will tell you instantly what box it’s in. Genius!
Why Inabox Is a Storage Game-Changer
Unless you’re living in a five-bedroom mansion with a walk-in wardrobe the size of Tasmania, storage is always going to be a problem in most people’s home.
What I love about Inabox is that it turns every single shelf, drawer and cupboard into usable, functional storage. There’s no room for “dead zones” in any home (especially a tiny one) & these smart solutions mean everything has a place – without making your home feel cluttered or chaotic.
The Final Wrap-Up
With the reno done & dusted and the apartment now sold, I feel pretty chuffed knowing the new owner won’t have to wrestle with storage dramas.
Instead of opening a cupboard & being met with an avalanche of randomness, they’ll think: “Well, this makes sense!”
So if you’re sick of wasted space, rogue clutter and constantly playing ‘where did I put that?’, check out Inabox Solutions, available from your local Bunnings store.
Trust me – your future, more organised self will thank you.
Much love,
Cherie x
